Responsibilities
- An integral member of the healthcare team, coordinates patient care and communicates and collaborates extensively with the other members of the healthcare team, patients and/or patient's family/guardian.
- Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.
- Provides patient and family education relative to nursing/medical and clinical services.
- Consults with medical specialists associated with patient's current treatment and/or treatment history.
- Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment to patients admitted to the program.
- Perform nursing histories and physical assessments.
- Facilitate patient and families in meeting their psychosocial needs.
- Provide medication evaluations and management in collaboration with the program's Medical Director/Psychiatrist.
- Administer medication to patients as prescribed.
- Annual certification in the Handle With Care behavior management system.
Qualifications
- NJ APN license, CDS, and DEA
- Prefer at least one year experience working with child/adolescent population
- Team player
