Medical Nurse Practitioner - Child and Adolescent Population

Responsibilities

As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will coordinate patient care, fostering extensive communication and collaboration with fellow healthcare professionals, patients, and their families/guardians. Your responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining and demonstrating high standards of professional ethics.
  • Providing patient and family education on nursing/medical and clinical services.
  • Consulting with medical specialists associated with the patient's current or historical treatment.
  • Offering psychiatric evaluations and treatment to program-admitted patients.
  • Performing nursing histories and physical assessments.
  • Facilitating patients and families in meeting psychosocial needs.
  • Providing medication evaluations and management in collaboration with the program's Medical Director/Psychiatrist.
  • Administering prescribed medications.
  • Completing annual certification in the Handle With Care behavior management system.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a Master's Degree and hold a current, valid Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Practice Nurse license.
  • Certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center.
  • Must have State of NJ prescriptive authority.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with children.
  • Thorough understanding of psychotropic medication use.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development through participation in continuing education activities.
