Responsibilities
- Responsible for the direct supervision and evaluation of all mental health staff.
- Implements and enforces all policies and procedures pertaining to the facility's mental health services.
- Meets regularly with the facility's Health Services Administrator to communicate information regarding mental health services.
- Coordinates mental health care with the medical department.
- Administratively oversees the referral process for psychopharmacological interventions .
- Oversees transfers of inmates to higher levels of mental health care when necessary.
- Attends all clinical and administrative meetings as scheduled by the Health Services Administraton.
- Provides direct mental health services as needed.
- Oversees mental health discharge planning for inmates to be released into the community.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must possess a degree in Psychology (Ph.D./Psy.D) from an accredited graduate program in Psychology or a degree in Medicine (MD/DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Must be licensed as a Psychologist or Psychiatrist by the in which he/she will provide services.
